Already for several years, the company E.ON has been trying to dulcify the Christmas holidays to seriously ill children, hospitalized in the Clinic of Children's Haematology and Oncology, or, as the case may be, in the paediatric part, in the Motol University Hospital in Prague.
Every day children get presents worth tens of thousands of crowns. There are laptops, DVD recorders and colour TV sets at the department, children themselves get construction kits, books and many other toys. Management of the company E.ON Czech Republic personally hand-over the presents each year.
The humane and unselfish attitude towards the little patients was also acknowledged by the Clinic's head, Professor MUDr. Jan Starý, DcSc. "Here we have patients up to 20 years of age, therefore, it's always very difficult to prepare such a broad range of presents so that everyone feels satisfied. You did it well, and I thank you once more on behalf of those little patients," he declared during one of the pre-Christmas gift-sharing.
