History

E.ON is the traditional partner of Czech energy industry.

Energy companies have been in operation on the territory of Southern Moravia and Southern Bohemia for almost a whole century. With respect to this rich tradition, we are now entering into a new stage of its development.

1995
600MW DC connection of the company Bayernwerk (the precursor of E.ON) provided the connection of the Czech Republic to the Western European energy network.

1998
Acquisition of shares in electrical and gas companies in terms of voucher privatization.

1999
Establishment of the company Bayernwerk Bohemia, s.r.o.

2000
Transformation of the company Bayernwerk Bohemia, s.r.o. into E.ON Bohemia, s.r.o. E.ON acquired the shares in electrical and gas companies from municipalities and former investors.

2001
Establishment of the company E.ON Czech Holding AG.

2003
Transaction with the Czech energy company ČEZ and Energie AG Oberösterreich, E.ON, taking over of majority shares in electricity regional suppliers – Jihomoravská energetika and Jihočeská energetika.

2005
Unbundling and foundation of new companies E.ON Česká republika, s.r.o., E.ON Energie, a.s. and E.ON Distribuce, a.s.

2006
Takeover of shares in gas industry – Jihočeská plynárenská and Pražská plynárenská.
