Children’s Camp Project, Soběnov

For the second consecutive year, almost seventy children from orphanages met in the camp Energetik in Soběnov in the Kaplicku district this year, which camp is situated on the entire distribution area of the E.ON Group. It's just E.ON that provides for these children aged from 7 to 13, a free ten day's stay in the midst of South-bohemian forests. "Our recreational centre in Soběnov is very suitable for holding similar events, because this is one of the purest environments in the Czech Republic," said the company's spokesman Vladimír Vácha.

E.ON perceives the Children’s Summer Camp Project designed for socially handicapped children as its contribution to the social responsibility. Even the government minister for minorities and human rights, Džamila Stehlíková, promised her participation in this project this year, however she had to cancel her visit at the very last moment, due to her working obligations.

All technical, organizational and material support was assumed by E.ON. Regarding the personnel attendance, children were catered for with maximum care, the chief leader was a company's employee with long-term experience in children camps leadership, Jiří Hinterhölz, who had at his disposal other external leaders, a health service worker, steward and kitchen personnel with applicable qualifications and competence.

This year, the content of camp activities was mostly focused on sport and development of sensory perception. Roughly at midterm of their stay, the children set out on a journey to Česky Krumlov where sightseeing of graphite mines was prepared, then followed a sightseeing tour of the chateau courtyard in Č. Krumlov, chateau gardens and of the rotary auditorium. The children took a swim in the Lipno dam reservoir on their way back. The theatrical troupe J. K. Tyl took charge of the cultural education of children with their fairy tale – Beauty and the Beast.
