Frequently Asked Questions regarding JÈP's change to E.ON
What do I have to do as a customer in terms of the change of JÈP to E.ON in order to continue receiving natural gas?
Your current agreement for receiving natural gas closed with the company Jihoèeská plynárenská, a.s., continues to remain in effect, and there isn't any need to close a new agreement. Also, the method of paying deposits and invoices including bank account numbers haven't changed, and are automatically transferred to the energy company E.ON. And so for these reasons, you need not take any administrative steps whatsoever.
In what manner were customers informed or will be informed about the change of JÈP to E.ON?
At the beginning of July, 2007, all customers of the company Jihoèeská plynárenská will receive business correspondence informing them of the change and of all essential details. Information will also be provided on the Website and in the regional press. Customers may also learn about the change by calling the Customer Hotline.
What main advantages will I have as a customer from receiving both electricity and natural gas from E.ON?
We are the first energy company in the Czech Republic to bring you the possibility of receiving both natural gas and electricity from a single supplier. We thereby increase your comfort relating to energy use for your home, office or institution. The greatest advantage will be valued by those customers who use both electricity and natural gas in their home, office or institution, because they will be able to resolve everything concerning energy with a single supplier, their own specialized partner.

Your current agreement on associated services for receiving natural gas supplies shall remain in effect. And so you need not take any administrative steps whatsoever in relation to the change of JÈP to E.ON.
Did the price or will the price change in any way for receiving natural gas supplies in correlation to the change of JÈP to E.ON? Where can I find information on natural gas prices?
No changes in the prices have occurred due to the change of JÈP to E.ON as of July 1, 2007.
Prices for natural gas are available at E.ON's company Website, www.eon.cz, at the E.ON Customer Service Hotline and at all of E.ON's sales offices.
Did or will the offer for products and services of natural gas change in any way due to the change of JÈP to E.ON?
The offer of all services and products of JÈP are automatically transferred to E.ON. All products and services may therefore continue to be used based on valid conditions.
Will it be possible after the change of JÈP to E.ON to close one single agreement for the joint supply of electricity and natural gas?
At the moment of change of JÈP to E.ON, it is not possible to close one joint agreement for receiving electricity and natural gas. Such a possibility is planned for the future, but the date for introducing this has not yet been determined.
Are there any changes in relation to the change of JÈP to E.ON in account numbers for sending deposits, overpayments or remaining balance payments, in the method of payment or in the amount of the deposit for receiving natural gas?
With the change of JÈP to E.ON, no change occurred in mutual payment relations with customers in correlation to receiving natural gas. Therefore all matters negotiated with the customer remain in tact, including methods of payment, the amount and payment dates for deposits, bank account numbers, etc.
Was automatic reading of my gas meter performed or will it be to the date of the change of JÈP to E.ON? Does or will the provider perform meter reading?
Because no changes will occur upon the change of JÈP to E.ON in the area of contractual arrangements and gas prices, there is no reason to perform a gas meter reading. Therefore the company E.ON or JÈP is not performing readings of gas meters, nor is it receiving any automatic readings.
If after the change of JÈP to E.ON, I will receive both electricity and gas from E.ON
- will I receive one common invoice for receiving electricity and natural gas?
- will I always be able to pay for deposits for electricity and natural gas by making one payment?
We are currently not technically capable of sending our customers one common invoice for receiving electricity and natural gas, or of having them pay regular deposits for both types of energy in one payment. We are however planning to introduce this in the future. A date has not yet been set for implementation.
What advantages come from the acquisition of JÈP by E.ON, why did E.ON take this step?
In its business dealings, the E.ON energy concern aims exclusively towards providing services in the area of electricity and natural gas. By taking over Jihoèeská plynárenska, a.s. we are fulfilling E.ON concern's strategy in the Czech Republic as well. The new arrangement of ownership shares in the gas market have become clearer and more transparent, and aside from other effects, it will lead to strengthening competition on the market. By integrating JÈP into the E.ON energetics group, we gain the capacity of offering our customers electricity and gas from just one provider, including related services. We’re convinced that customers will appreciate this offer.
Will the company JÈP come under the company E.ON with all of its departments, or will it be restructured? Will its employees lose their jobs?
JÈP is becoming an integrated component of the energy company E.ON. This means that JÈP employees from departments existing in both companies will be assigned to the corresponding departments of the companies of the energetics group E.ON. We are not planning any mass downsizing, and every employee will receive an offer for a corresponding working position within the framework of the energetics group E.ON. This means that any decrease in the number of employees shall occur naturally (retirements, natural fluctuation).
Where will JÈP have its headquarters?
It is no longer possible to speak of headquarters for JÈP after restructuring. Individual employees will go into the corresponding company departments of the energy group E.ON. E.ON's current registered head office is at Lannova 16, 370 49 Èeské Budìjovice. From the customer service aspect, customers will continue to be able to use the services of the Customer Service Hotline 840 111 333, and of the company Website at www.eon.cz. You may also resolve any matter via email at info@eon.cz, or visit our contact location on the street Jeronýmova ulice in Èeské Budìjovice.
