Commencement of the 14th International Music Festival in Český Krumlov
This year, the E.ON energy group is also becoming the main partner of one of the most significant cultural events of the year in the south Bohemian region, the 14th International Music Festival in Český Krumlov. The festival, which is now for the second time under the auspices of the president of the Czech Republic, Mr. Václav Klaus, will offer some 26 concerts of various musical genres ranging from classical music up to and including present musical compositions this year between 15th July and 27th August.
The principal stars of the festival this year will be the Latvian violoncellist Misha Maisky and the Korean violinist Ming-Jung Suh. Let us not forget our excellent home-grown musicians – there will be the Spiritual Quintet, celebrating its 45 year presence on the musical scene, and the world renowned guitar virtuoso Mr. Štěpán Rak will celebrate his sixtieth birthday there. Another celebrant of this year’s festival will be Mr. Vladimír Válek, the conductor of the Czech Radio Symphonic Orchestra.
The E.ON energy group, as one of the largest employers in the region, is fully cognizant of its cultural, social and charitable responsibilities in regions where it does business. It is for this reason that one of the things we do is lend our support every year to significant musical projects in the regions. For several years, the company has been contributing to the Český Krumlov festival, which is the peak cultural event in the south Bohemian region. The International Music Festival in Český Krumlov is not the only grand cultural event that the E.ON group supports. Similar attention is paid to the Moravian Autumn musical festival.
The E.ON energy group wishes to emphasize the fact that social responsibility in the regions of its business interests is an integral part of its company philosophy, which it consistently fulfils.
